A group of eight single mothers and widows wanted to become self-sufficient by making and selling school uniforms for poor families of the region, so that the families would not have to travel so far to buy them. They also would make other types of clothing needed by children and adults in their communities. They requested funds from Mission Mexico in order to purchase sewing machines and fabric to get their project started.
